6° ENTRY

Since I started college I knew I wanted to do a post graduate after I finished it, although I’ve never been so secure about what it should be. My career is not a traditional one so the options are enormous, you can relate it to what you want, not only the artistic field. Sadly, here in Chile, this study program is so young there aren’t many specialized institutions so the best option is to do it abroad.

There are two areas I would like to study related to Cinema. In the first place I would love to do a post graduate in screenwriting, I think that’s the real dream. Lots of people think about that so the chances are little because of the extreme demand, but I don’t lose faith. In second place I’m really enthusiastic about the theory of image, one course that get’s my attention a lot is visual anthropology. I would love to do it but it scares me a little bit, I don’t believe I have the basic knowledge to do a course like that, in comparison to others careers.   

I would do it abroad not only for the large amount of variety, also because I would really like to have the experience of studying in another country and getting to know how people sees my career in other places.    

   

5 ENTRY

One job I would really like to have is to be a screenwriter. Right now I’m in my last year of cinema so I had already written a few things. It’s not easy at all, in fact my first’s scripts were horrible and it wasn’t until 2013 I started writing more decently.

I was in the main class at college and the teacher asks us to tell a story we had in mind. I told the class what I had planned without expecting anything and suddenly everyone started laughing at the things that were happening in the narration. The teacher was very happy and told me it was an excellent comedy but I was pretty shocked because I never thought about it as a comedy, always as a drama.

Next week my idea was chosen to be produced and I didn’t know what to do. Finally I decided to realize the story and when the moment of having to write the script came; I sat in my desk without a single gram of faith and amazingly everything started to flow. That moment I realized how joyful is to write.

I expect to do it forever but I know it’s very difficult, especially in Chile because the Cinema Industry is so small. That’s also the reason why I pretend to specialize on it but not here, in another country.

4° ENTRY

I’ve always been very enthusiastic about dreams; I think they are an important part of us even though most of us can’t understand them completely. The fact that our mind keeps on working even when we are unconscious it’s stunning and it has to mean something.

I know I have had repeated dreams but, believe or not, I can’t remember one right now. More than the same dream, it’s the same people or the same place. But because of my memory failing I’m going to talk about one of the scariest dream I ever had. I was prisoner in a dungeon and all the guards wore animal masks, there were other prisoners but I couldn’t see them. They treated us very bad and threatened us with sticks. In one moment they let us all go to a type of party in the underground of the prison. While we were all dancing (even the guards) I noticed there was a tunnel at the end of the room, I went there to check it out and I realized I could escape through it. I started running across the tunnel and I could see a light at the end, when I get there I knew it was the outside world but I still had to climb another wall. I was so nervous and scared while escalating that I woke up immediately and never knew the end of the dream.

I don’t know what that was all about but I think we can all agree that it didn’t mean something good.

3° ENTRY

One of the best trip I ever had was in 2013 when I travelled to Argentina with two friends from college. I arrived two weeks early beacuse I took the chance to visit some friends of mine that live in Mar del Plata. 

After that I met with my chilean friends in Buenos Aires and stayed there for ten days, it was awesome. We got to know every historic place we wanted, we got to party every day, we got to eat tasty food and we got to know beautiful people. I remember sleeping like four hours per day but still had the energy to keep on laughing. I now think of that and I envy myself because I always want to take a nap. 

On the way back we were so tired we couldn't even speak, people asked us questions and we just stared at them waiting for the other to answer. When I finally got home I stayed in bed for three days drinking water and eating lettuce waiting for my body to recover. It was fun.

2° ENTRY

I can´t say I only have one favourite movie scene. There are many great scenes and many great movies to choose from. But today I'll talk about "La teta asustada", it's a peruvian film from 2009 directed by Claudia Llosa. It´s a beatiful movie that talks about ancestral traditions in Perú that lies in rapped women. The leyend says that the fear is transmitted to the daughter trough the breast milb and as a defense method the girl has to put a potato in her vagina.

All the time I was watching the movie I tough that it was a metaphor but it wasn't. Ther is a scene where the main character visit the doctor because she was feeling very sick. When the doctor realized the reason he was shocked and tried to explain her that it was just a myth. The girl dind't listen and she keeps on taking care of the potato by cutting the root directly from her body part. 

It's a very strong movie that express the women's fear for men and the violence that this world actually means.

1° ENTRY

Chichen Itzá is one of the largest cities from the Maya Civilization. There you can find the Temple of Kukultan that is considered one of the new seven wonders of the world; more than a million tourists visit the ruins every year. Of course there are other thing that interest people that go there. Chichen Itza is located in Yucatán, México, a country known for its rich native culture and for its incredible gastronomy. I consider myself a foody; every place I go I expect to taste their dishes. I believe  it´s a way of discovering a foreign space and understand it.

I think Mexico is an awesome place that combines both things: fun and learning. Although I wouldn´t like to study there, I would be too distracted with everything and people I know that had gone there told me it is a very unstable place to live.

Anyway I would just like to visit Mexico, living there would be impossible for me; I prefer cold weather because sunny days over 30 degrees make feel irritated.
